When you bought a computer or games console back in the day, they often came bundled with free software. These were mainly budget titles from small software houses.
The game shown below has to be one of the best games that came with the Amstrad CPC – Oh Mummy. (Well, in my opinion!)
What was your favorite game that came bundled with a system? What was the worst? Comment below!
Omega race for the vic 20
The plus/4 game with a whole load of different games, non outstanding, but all pretty good.
Timegate – came with my ZX Spectrum from Dixons.
I guess that saying “The Super Mario Bros cartridge bundled with my NES” would be an easy pick, so i’ll say instead “Combat” for the Atari 2600
I didn’t get any pack-in with my 464 soooo I’d say the Amsoft demo tape 😀
Some really interesting information on this website. Definitely Oh Mummy was one of my favourite Amstrad games! Loved it. There’s a really good remake that can be played online at http://www.scratchpad-cloud.com/ohm.htm if anybody’s interested.
I remember this (and I can barely believe there are pictures of the package as a whole online) http://www.retrogamescollector.com/spectrum-six-pack-closer-look/
My mum really enjoyed the “frogger” section of Horace Goes Skiing (but just couldn’t do the skiing bit). Personally I think I probably spent more time on Chequered Flag than anything else at the time.
Software House it was called – came with my speccy + 2 – loved it, spent days playing it !
