May 2023 – Sorry, I have had to suspend this service until further notice.
We can now provide a service where we will try and read data from your old floppy disks. I have the hardware to work with the following disks.
- 3″ used in the Amstrad CPC & PCW (Locoscript disks for example) , ZX Spectrum +3, Tatung Einstein and more
- 3.5″ used in the IBM PC, Commodore Amiga, Atari ST etc
- 5 1/4″ using in the PC, BBC Micro (Model B, Master etc)
- ZIP Disk (PC and Apple Macintosh formats)
I use various pieces of hardware to read and write to obsolete media. The latest tool I use is called Greaseweazle – this allows me to read and write disks at flux level.
I can convert PCW Locoscript files to other formats including Microsoft word or RTF files for example.
The cost of this service is per disk, but discounts can be made for a bulk transfer. Payment is currently accepted via PayPal or bank transfer.
Please contact me via email at [email protected] if you wish to make use of this service.
